Don Shepherd Band

This 12 piece band was put together in 1949 and lasted until about 1952. The band worked in the Pyranon ballroom and many other places in the Chatham area. Don played lead Alto and his wife Penna Graham was the band vocalist. The band was very popular playing all the hits of the day and is remembered as a very good dance band.

Don joined the Air Force during the war and played in one of the best Toronto Air Force bands. After the war Don move to Barrie and owned and operated a music store. In 1949 he moved back to Chatham to help his father operate and manage Shepherd Printing Company.

There is not much information to be found for this band and any furher information would be very welcome.
