The Prime Time Big Band is a 17 piece jazz big band. It contains the standard big band instrumentation of 5 saxes, 4 trombones and 4 trumpets with a 3 piece rhythm section. The band also has a resident vocalist Sharon Beeler. Eight of our members hold degrees in music. Two of our members are composers and arrangers. All of the saxophonists play two or more woodwind instruments. Some of our members have over 50 years of professional performance experience.

The band performs authentic arrangementsof big band jazz classics by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, as well as more contemporary latin and jazz-rock fusion compositions. Some of our repertoire is written by our own members, Tim Nicholls and Alan Ogborne.

The Band has recorded one CD
and will start recording a new disk in the fall. The Band has played at the London Big Band Festival, Woodstock Jazz and Blues Festival, the opening of the new Central London Library, MusicFest Regionals, weddings, benefit concerts, regular dances at Aeolian Hall, and more.
